British Airways Overview

British Airways (BA), headquartered in London, is the flag carrier of the United Kingdom and one of the oldest airlines in the world, founded on 25 August 1919. Although BA is the second-largest UK-based carrier behind easyJet, its significance in global aviation is undoubted in terms of fleet size and passengers carried.

BA was established in 1974 after the British government decided to manage two nationalized airline corporations, British Overseas Airways Corporation and British European Airways, under a unified British Airways Board. The company was privatized in February 1987.

As of March 2023, the airline boasts a fleet of 262 aircraft, making it a major player in the aviation industry. BA is a key International Airlines Group (IAG) member, including Iberia. IAG is considered the world's third-largest airline group in terms of annual revenue. The airline's two main hubs are London–Heathrow and London–Gatwick.

Onboard Experience

Travel with British Airways is designed to offer comfort and convenience, regardless of your class of service. BA offers four main cabin classes: First Class, Business Class (Club World), Premium Economy (World Traveller Plus), and Economy (World Traveller).

First Class: As the most premium cabin class, BA's First Cabin offers suites that provide passengers with the ultimate luxury experience. These suites feature doors for added privacy, personal wardrobes, and writing desks that can be converted into dining tables.

Business Class (Club World): BA has recently updated its business class cabins with a new 'Club Suite.' These suites offer direct-aisle access, doors for enhanced privacy, and luxurious flat-bed seats to ensure maximum comfort.

Premium Economy (World Traveller Plus): BA's premium economy class offers wider seats and more legroom than standard economy class. Passengers can also enjoy an enhanced meal service.

Economy (World Traveller): BA's standard economy class is an affordable travel option that doesn't compromise on basic comforts. Passengers are treated to complimentary meals, drinks, and personal entertainment systems. Activity packs are also provided for children on longer flights.

In 2023, British Airways significantly improved its in-flight Wi-Fi connectivity, offering faster speeds across the majority of its long-haul fleet.
