American Airlines has announced the addition of eight new routes to Latin America and the Caribbean for the upcoming winter season. Starting in December, travelers can look forward to new flights from key U.S. cities such as Charlotte, New York, and Philadelphia to popular destinations including the Dominican Republic, Barbados, St. Lucia, and Costa Rica. Notably, this expansion includes unique services to La Romana, Dominican Republic, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines, enhancing American’s extensive network in the region.
According to Vasu Raja, American’s Chief Revenue Officer, "This expansion reflects our commitment to providing our customers with greater travel options and convenient access to some of the most beautiful destinations in the world." The airline aims to offer over 2,350 weekly flights to Latin America and the Caribbean, making it the leading U.S. carrier in the region.
New Routes and Flight Details
- Charlotte (CLT) to Barbados (BGI): Seasonal service starts December 21, 2024.
- New York (JFK) to St. Lucia (UVF): New weekly service begins December 22, 2024.
- Philadelphia (PHL) to St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVD): The only U.S. service to the destination, starting December 23, 2024.
- Charlotte (CLT) to La Romana (LRM): Unique service from December 21, 2024.
