Atlanta to Host the 5th Annual Wine & Culture Festival

Hue Society's 5th annual Wine & Culture Festival

Atlanta's Historic Underground to Transform into a Cultural Wine Haven in July 2023

ATLANTA, GA, April 26, 2023 – The Hue Society's 5th annual Wine & Culture Festival is set to bring wine enthusiasts, industry mavens, and cultural explorers together under the banner “Kingdom Come: Celebrating the Table We’ve Built.” The week-long event will be held from July 23-30, 2023, at the historic Underground Atlanta.

The Wine & Culture Festival prides itself on being the most inclusive wine event, focusing on consumer education, brand awareness, industry advancement, and cultural experiences through the Black lens. Tahiirah Habibi, the Festival's Founder, expressed her excitement about the return of the Festival to Atlanta for its fifth year. "Our presence at the Underground Atlanta is significant," she says. "This is a perfect venue to make the Festival both family-friendly and have adult fun at one of Atlanta's most historical landmarks, both above and underground."

The festival's signature two-day event, "The Mansion Underground," promises a cultural extravaganza. The historic Underground Atlanta will transform into theme-activated rooms, with vivid backdrops, selfie spots, fierce DJs, food, and wine tastings, all celebrating the resilience and power of Black, brown, and indigenous communities.

Several high-profile events are on the festival's agenda, including The Legacy Dinner, which honors significant contributors to the food, wine, and beverage industry. The Rosé Lounge caps off the week with a splash of pink wine and good vibes. Most of these events will take place at the festival's host hotel, The Thompson Hotel Buckhead, a luxury boutique hotel nestled in the heart of Atlanta. Attendees staying at the host hotel will have direct access to many events and enjoy discounted room rates.

Festival sponsors and partners include VinePair as the official media sponsor, and McBride Sisters Wine Company and Silver Oak.

Tahiirah Habibi, the Festival's Founder, is one of the most celebrated female sommeliers in the country. She has been recognized in Vogue, BET, and The Robb Report and serves on the Board of the James Beard Awards. As a co-founder of the Roots Fund and The Hue Society, Tahiirah continues to champion the contributions of people of color in the wine industry.

About The Hue Society: Founded in 2017 by Tahiirah Habibi, The Hue Society is a pioneering organization aiming to increase black, brown, and Indigenous representation and access in the wine industry. The Hue Society connects a prominent community of innovators, sommeliers, and winemakers with a rapidly growing population of Black wine enthusiasts, bridging the gap in economic inclusion and representation for communities of color.
