Wonderful Copenhagen, the tourism board for Denmark’s capital, is launching a creative contest for U.S.-based fans of the iconic Danish butter cookie tin, inviting them to showcase their unique uses for the beloved tin. With nostalgia rooted in its blue, countryside-themed design, the tin is commonly repurposed in American households as a storage or keepsake container. Now, participants can share their personal take on this tradition for a chance to win a cultural trip to Copenhagen in March 2025.

The campaign celebrates Copenhagen’s cultural richness and modern appeal beyond the traditional butter cookie, in a city known for its forward-thinking architecture, design, and sustainability. "Copenhagen has a rich history symbolized by our famous cookie tin — but it’s a vibrant cultural hub where creativity meets modern design," said Rikke Holm Petersen of Wonderful Copenhagen.
