Delta Air Lines is gearing up for the winter season with a significant expansion of its warm-weather destinations. The Atlanta-based airline recently announced new routes and resumed services to various sunny spots, including Turks and Caicos, Costa Rica, and several Caribbean locations.
The new routes include Detroit to Providenciales in Turks and Caicos and Boston to Liberia, Costa Rica. These flights will operate weekly on Saturdays, with service to Providenciales beginning December 21, aligning with peak winter holidays. This marks Delta's fourth Caribbean destination from Detroit, adding to its existing routes to Montego Bay, Punta Cana, and San Juan.
The Boston to Liberia flight, starting January 11, will connect travelers to Costa Rica's picturesque Guanacaste province, known for its natural beauty. Delta is also resuming services from New York to Antigua and St. Kitts on January 11, after these routes were halted in 2021 and 2020, respectively.
In addition, Delta has announced other expansions in Latin America, including new destinations like Bridgetown, Puerto Plata, Mazatlan, and Tulum. The airline also plans to increase the frequency of flights to several locations, such as Cartagena, Buenos Aires, Santiago, and various Caribbean islands.
These additions reflect Delta's ongoing growth in Latin America, with a planned 5% increase in capacity for the winter, making it the airline's largest-ever schedule to the region.
