Delta Air Lines has introduced a new standard of luxury with the opening of its Delta One Lounge at JFK Airport. Claude Roussel, vice president of Delta Sky Clubs and lounge experience, emphasized the premium service and amenities, stating, "We want our guests to feel the difference here; moreover, we want them to feel welcomed and valued from the moment they step through the door."
The lounge boasts a 140-seat Brasserie restaurant offering a three-course meal service, and the Market and Bakery, reminiscent of traditional delicatessen food counters with white marble decor, provides walk-up service. The Market dining area features fan-shaped marble mosaic tiles, paying homage to New York brasseries.
Guests can enjoy drinks at the bar or from a mobile beverage cart circulating the lounge. Delta highlights the bar's "elevated takes on classic cocktails," complemented by an art deco-inspired lighting fixture and design elements reflecting the gold leaf ceiling and chandeliers of Radio City Music Hall. The dining room features a suspended lighting fixture inspired by the overlapping strands of the Brooklyn Bridge.
Design touches include Missoni accent pillows, vases, and coffee table books, reflecting Delta's partnership with the Italian fashion house known for its signature zigzag pattern.
The wellness area offers nine relaxation pods with massage and nap chairs, reservable for personalized treatments from Grown-Alchemist certified therapists. Adjacent to this is the Serenity Lounge, a tranquil space, and the Rejuvenation Bar, serving nonalcoholic beverages and fruit and herb-infused waters and juices.
Additional amenities include eight shower suites with towels, bathrobes, and slippers, and a valet attendant to shine shoes or press clothes while guests shower. For those needing to work, the lounge provides eight individual soundproof booths.
Delta plans to expand the Delta One Lounge experience to Los Angeles International and Boston Logan airports later this year.
