A big 'hello' to convenience for iPhone users as United Airlines breaks new ground, becoming the first U.S. airline to support Live Activities on iPhone. The feature allows customers to access their boarding pass, gate, seat number, and real-time countdown to departure without even opening the United app - talk about a time-saver!
With customers checking their mobile boarding passes and flight status nearly 800,000 times daily, United caters to the digital generation. "Live Activities puts all the flight information you need right at your fingertips," said Linda Jojo, Chief Customer Officer for United. A quick glance at the iPhone screen gives passengers details such as flight number, on-time status, estimated departure and arrival times, and much more.
Live Activities also allows customers to open their boarding pass directly for an easy security check-in or flight boarding experience. They can check departure and arrival gates, pre- and in-flight countdowns, and baggage carousel information right from their screen.
All of these features are set to roll out widely by the end of May. However, passengers must ensure their iPhone is running on iOS 16.1 or later, and their United app is up to date to experience these convenient additions.
United has been at the forefront of technology advancements, regularly rolling out industry-leading app features. Some of these include the Agent on Demand tool, United Map Search for personalized flight shopping, the Travel Ready Center to help customers prepare for their travel, and the Terminal Guide providing personalized day-of instructions to navigate through the airport.
The United mobile app, with up to three million daily users, continues to set benchmarks for its accessibility, personalization options, and improved navigation. The latest feature is a testament to United's commitment to making their customers' travel journey more effortless. For more information, download the United mobile app here.
