Lufthansa is set to debut its innovative Allegris aircraft interior on May 1, marking a significant enhancement in passenger experience aboard the German carrier's fleet. The rollout of this new cabin design will begin with the Airbus A350 aircraft, initially serving the Munich to Vancouver route. Subsequently, the Munich-Toronto route will feature the new interiors, followed by expansions to Munich-Chicago and Munich-Montreal over the summer.
The Allegris cabins are touted to be among the most diversely configured in the aviation industry. Although Lufthansa initially announced that the business class would feature seven different products, a recent press release specified only five. Additionally, the new design includes four unique economy class products and an upgraded premium economy section.
In a strategic shift due to supply chain issues, the introduction of the Allegris configuration, which was originally planned for the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners last fall, has been adapted to the Airbus A350. This change comes after delays in Boeing 787-9 deliveries. The Airbus A350s equipped with Allegris will initially lack a first-class section, as indicated by current flight maps, though plans include the addition of two distinct first-class seating options in future configurations.
Lufthansa and its sister airline, Swiss, aim to incorporate the Allegris interiors across a substantial segment of their fleet. This will include more than 100 aircraft, such as the new Dreamliners, A350s, and Boeing 777-9s, in addition to retrofitting some existing widebody aircraft like the Boeing 747-8s.
For travelers eager to experience the new configurations, Lufthansa has made seat maps available on its booking channels. During the initial months following the launch, the airline will not impose distinct pricing for the different business-class products available on the Allegris-configured A350s. This approach allows passengers to experience the enhanced offerings without additional cost.
