Mattel, the renowned toy company, is bringing its iconic brands to life with the upcoming Mattel Adventure Park in Glendale, Arizona. Slated for a 2024 opening, this park promises to immerse visitors in the worlds of Barbie, Hot Wheels, Thomas & Friends, and more.
The park, which will be part of the 60-acre Vai Resort, will operate year-round, boasting both indoor and outdoor attractions. Unique to the park's design, even outdoor rides will have air-conditioned loading and unloading zones, ensuring visitors remain comfortable throughout their visit, especially during Arizona's hotter months.
Among the highlighted attractions are two Hot Wheels-themed roller coasters. The "Hot Wheels Bone Shaker: The Ultimate Ride" will be a family-friendly coaster reaching up to 84 feet and featuring the iconic Hot Wheels hot rod skull design. For those seeking more thrills, the "Hot Wheels Twin Mill Racer" will offer a double loop and two corkscrews.
Beyond Hot Wheels, the park will feature a dedicated "Thomas & Friends" land with rides and an indoor play area for younger children. Barbie enthusiasts can look forward to a life-sized Barbie Beach House, complete with a rooftop bar and restaurant. Other attractions include a mini-golf course inspired by classic Mattel games, an Uno-themed climbing structure, and a "Masters of the Universe" laser tag arena.
Mattel Adventure Park is part of a growing trend of smaller, family-friendly parks in the U.S. These "micro-parks" offer a more intimate and manageable experience compared to larger theme parks, allowing visitors to explore all attractions within a single day.
With construction already underway, fans can keep up with the park's progress through a live construction camera on its website and by following Mattel Adventure Park on social media platforms.
