Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) is set to transition to the SkyTeam airline alliance on September 1, marking a significant shift from its current affiliation with Star Alliance, which will conclude on August 31. This strategic move aims to broaden SAS's global network and enhance the travel options available to its customers.

SAS EuroBonus loyalty program members can look forward to enjoying comparable benefits across most of SkyTeam's airlines. SAS is actively engaging in discussions with SkyTeam and its member carriers to foster robust commercial relationships, promising an enriched loyalty experience for travelers.

Joining SkyTeam opens up a world of travel possibilities for SAS customers, granting access to 19 additional airlines and extending the airline's reach to over 1,060 destinations worldwide. This expansion significantly enhances the travel flexibility and options available to SAS passengers.

SAS assures its customers that benefits associated with Star Alliance will remain intact through August 31, ensuring a smooth transition period for travelers.

SkyTeam's membership includes major North American carriers such as Delta and Aeromexico, offering extensive connectivity across the continent. In Europe, the alliance boasts prominent members like Air France, KLM, Virgin Atlantic, ITA Airways, and Czech Airlines, further strengthening SAS's European network. Additionally, SkyTeam's Asian contingent includes Korean Air and Chinese airlines such as Xiamen Air, China Airlines, and China Eastern Airlines, providing expansive coverage across the Asia-Pacific region.

This strategic alliance shift underscores SAS's commitment to enhancing its global footprint and offering its customers a more diverse and comprehensive travel network. As SAS joins forces with SkyTeam, passengers can anticipate a seamless and enriched travel experience with broader access to global destinations.
