Prepare for takeoff, Denverites, and globetrotters alike! United Airlines today unveiled an ambitious expansion plan aimed at solidifying its position as Denver's leading airline. This thrilling journey will see the addition of 35 flights, six new routes, a whopping 12 new gates, and three stylish clubs, including the carrier's largest worldwide.
Beginning this summer, United will double down on early morning departures and late evening arrivals in and out of Denver. This gives customers more flexibility and extended stay options - what every traveler dreams of.
United Airlines CEO, Scott Kirby, was beaming with excitement when he shared, "Denver is one of the fastest growing cities in the country, and as the Mile High City's most flown airline, it's essential that we maintain the most modern infrastructure and fleet to support our local employees and customers and deliver a great experience. Our expansion in Denver will further enable us to connect our customers to destinations across the globe and revitalize our presence at the airport with modern, customer-friendly offerings."
According to The American Growth Project, Denver is skyrocketing as one of America's fastest-growing cities, with a vibrant population seeking a wide range of domestic and international travel options. United has answered the call with new non-stops to six destinations, including Dayton, OH; Greensboro, NC; Lexington, KY; and San Juan, Puerto Rico - four destinations not currently served by any other Denver airline.
Hold onto your boarding passes, because the expansion doesn't stop at flight offerings. United's infrastructure development plan promises to open 12 new gates in the A and B concourses by mid-2024, taking United's total gate count to a commanding 90, the most at Denver International Airport.
This expansion is part of the carrier's nearly $1 billion investment in the Denver experience. This includes a new check-in lobby, cutting-edge technology at the gates, a novel United Club FlySM concept, and the renovation and expansion of United ClubSM locations.
This summer, United will also open a new club on the A Concourse and reopen its first revamped club on the B Concourse. These chic United Club locations will reflect the essence of the Colorado region with two full levels of club space and an upgraded design. The B Concourse United Club will be the largest in the carrier's network.
And to seal the deal, Denver Mayor Michael B. Hancock has christened today's 'United Airlines Day,' recognizing the airline's considerable contribution to Denver's prosperity.
