Palisades Tahoe, formerly known as Squaw Valley & Alpine Meadows, is currently facing a critical situation following an avalanche that occurred on the morning of January 10th. The incident took place specifically above the GS gully area of KT-22 on the Palisades side of the mountain.
Unofficial reports from employees indicate that there are multiple people missing in the GS chute area. The severity of the situation is underscored by reports of "multiple burials on GS bowl," leading to the closure of both mountains for safety reasons.
