The United States boasts a diverse range of ski towns, offering idyllic winter retreats for snow sports enthusiasts, families, and vacationers seeking a cozy getaway. From the snow-capped peaks of the Rocky Mountains to the enchanting slopes of New England, these ski towns provide the perfect backdrop for unforgettable winter experiences.

For some, the Outback means emptiness. And while the Outback is huge, I found it to be anything but empty. It was full of history, culture, geology, proud people — and adventures. I spent three days in the Outback, but I would have stayed for weeks. Here’s a span of 24 hours of adventure, from sunrise to sunset.
