Luxury travel operator Abercrombie & Kent has announced plans to open the Kitirua Plains Lodge in Kenya's Amboseli National Park by late 2025. The news was unveiled by Kate Thompson, senior vice president of marketing strategy, during the ILTM Cannes trade show.
The lodge, set near the iconic Mount Kilimanjaro, will feature 16 suites and villas, blending luxury with the surrounding natural beauty. This development aligns with A&K's broader strategy of investing in high-end lodges, camps, and boats under its rebranded A&K Sanctuary portfolio.
Thompson also highlighted other key projects in the pipeline, including the reopening of the rebuilt Gorilla Forest Lodge in Uganda in May 2025 and the reconstruction of Baines' Lodge in Botswana, which is expected to welcome guests by mid-2025.
Expanding its footprint globally, A&K is preparing to launch its first Amazon riverboat in Peru next summer, marking its entry into South America’s luxury cruise market.
These investments reflect Abercrombie & Kent’s commitment to enhancing bespoke travel experiences in some of the world’s most captivating destinations.
