Disney Cruise Line has announced an ambitious fleet expansion, set to grow to 13 ships by 2031. The Disney Treasure, the newest ship, will debut in late 2024, followed by the Disney Destiny and Disney Adventure in 2025. In 2027, a fourth Wish-class ship will launch, capable of hosting 4,000 passengers and powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG).
Between 2029 and 2031, three smaller ships will join the fleet. These vessels will accommodate 3,000 guests each and incorporate sustainable fuel technologies, including hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) and renewable methanol. These advancements align with Disney’s goal of improving energy efficiency through next-generation propulsion systems and optimized operations.
The new ships will be 20% larger than the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder but more compact than the Dream and Wish classes. The trio will feature innovative hull designs and flexible fuel adaptability as the cruise industry continues to evolve.
With six ships currently in service, Disney’s fleet expansion reflects its commitment to sustainability and creating enhanced experiences for passengers.
