HX, previously known as Hurtigruten, is revolutionizing the expedition cruising experience by introducing an all-inclusive offering across its entire fleet. This strategic move aims to enhance the onboard experience for guests, aligning HX with the luxury and convenience found in ultra-luxury expedition cruise lines like Silverseas and Seabourn.
The transition to an all-inclusive model is set to begin in October 2024 with departures to Antarctica & the Galápagos Islands, expanding to all destinations from November 2024. This initiative will provide guests with a hassle-free experience, including daily expeditions, onboard activities led by scientists, and complimentary beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.
Additional perks now included without extra charges are full board dining with house wine and beer, spirits, cocktails throughout the day, and all-day access to coffee, tea, and soft drinks. The package also encompasses free Wi-Fi, gratuities, access to the ship’s wellness amenities, and professional photographs taken during expeditions.
By integrating an all-inclusive offering, HX is positioning itself alongside luxury market leaders, targeting guests who seek not just adventures but also comfort and convenience. This transition represents a broader trend in the cruise industry towards offering more comprehensive, hassle-free vacation options, especially in the expedition segment.
Guests sailing on the MS Santa Cruz II around the Galapagos Islands, as well as those aboard the MS Fram and MS Roald Amundsen exploring Antarctica, the Falkland Islands, South Georgia, and Patagonia, will be among the first to enjoy HX’s newly introduced all-inclusive program.
This move is a response to feedback from guests and partners and a way to establish HX’s new brand identity. It signifies a departure from the days when expedition cruising meant "roughing it," allowing guests to explore the world in comfort and style.
