TRUCKEE, Calif. — The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe, a premier luxury resort known for its AAA Five Diamond status and idyllic location at Northstar California Resort, has announced the completion of a significant $20 million renovation aimed at enriching guest experiences with modern, sophisticated enhancements. The extensive upgrades span across the resort, including reimagined guest rooms, a revitalized club lounge, refreshed spa amenities, and the introduction of a new Topgolf Swing Suite.

Palisades Tahoe has reported a tragic update following the avalanche that occurred this morning on the Palisades side of the resort. The incident took place at approximately 9:30 a.m. in the GS gully area, to the skier’s right of the KT-22 chairlift.

In response to the avalanche, Palisades Tahoe Ski Patrol, along with over 100 resort personnel and members of the public, immediately conducted a thorough search of the area. The search utilized avalanche transceivers, probes, RECCO Rescue System technology, and avalanche rescue dog teams.

Palisades Tahoe, formerly known as Squaw Valley & Alpine Meadows, is currently facing a critical situation following an avalanche that occurred on the morning of January 10th. The incident took place specifically above the GS gully area of KT-22 on the Palisades side of the mountain.

Unofficial reports from employees indicate that there are multiple people missing in the GS chute area. The severity of the situation is underscored by reports of "multiple burials on GS bowl," leading to the closure of both mountains for safety reasons.
