West Coast travelers gain nonstop access to the Bahamas, plus expanded service to Mexico, starting this winter.
Get ready to swap your winter coats for beachwear! Alaska Airlines is brightening up your winter travel plans with its debut flights to the Bahamas, boasting nonstop journeys from both Los Angeles and Seattle. The airline is also expanding its service to Mexico, announcing new routes between Las Vegas and both Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta. All these international flights are slated to begin operation in mid-December.
Alaska Airlines is delighted to roll out these routes, marking its first-ever service to the Caribbean nation. Travelers from Los Angeles and Seattle can enjoy direct flights to the picturesque islands off the South Florida coast, with convenient morning departures ensuring late-afternoon arrivals in Nassau.
In anticipation of the inaugural flight to the Bahamas, Prime Minister Hon. Philip E. Davis expressed his excitement, "For those looking to escape to our enchanting white beaches, turquoise waters, and vibrant culture, this new connection provides an effortless path. We can't wait to extend our warm Bahamian welcome to the visitors from afar, ushering in a new chapter of tourism and cultural exchange. We welcome and look forward to this new partnership."
"We're excited to add a 'new dot' to our route map and believe our guests will appreciate the convenience of nonstop service to the Bahamas this winter," said Kirsten Amrine, vice president of revenue management and network planning for Alaska Airlines.
The service to Nassau also marks a milestone for the airline as it becomes the 101st nonstop destination from its hometown airport in Seattle.
Las Vegas will also serve as a new gateway to two of Mexico's most popular destinations, Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta. Both flights will offer convenient midday arrivals, while the new seasonal flight between San Luis Obispo and Las Vegas will make connections to Mexico even smoother for Central Coast California residents.
Travelers can look forward to three-class cabins, generous legroom, and award-winning service across all flights. The perks include power outlets at every seat, hundreds of free movies and TV shows for streaming, and the option to pre-order from a range of fresh meal selections.
So, grab your passport and dive into these exciting new options for winter travel. Your Caribbean or Mexican escape is just a flight away!
