ZAGREB, CROATIA – JULY 1, 2024. The latest MICHELIN guide has brought exceptional recognition to Croatia, underscoring the country's culinary excellence. Agli Amici in Rovinj has been awarded two stars, while Dubravkin put in Zagreb has received one star. Notably, several restaurants have successfully retained their stars: Pelegrini (Šibenik), 360º (Dubrovnik), Monte (Rovinj), Noel (Zagreb), Boškinac (Novalja), LD Restaurant (Korčula), Nebo (Rijeka), Alfred Keller (Mali Lošinj), and Korak (Jastrebarsko).

"The new MICHELIN guide is a reaffirmation of the excellence of Croatian gastronomy, which, thanks to the creativity and passion of Croatian chefs, is already recognized in the world," stated Tonči Glavina, Minister of Tourism and Sports. He highlighted the diversity of offerings, local and authentic ingredients, and the rich variety of Croatian dishes as key attractions for tourists. Glavina also noted the recent designation of Croatian chef Rudi Štefan as a global ambassador for gastronomic tourism by the World Tourism Organization, further cementing Croatia's culinary reputation.

The MICHELIN Green Star, honoring sustainability and environmental responsibility, was retained by Zinfandel's (Zagreb), Konoba Mate (Korčula), and Korak (Jastrebarsko).

Kristjan Staničić, director of the Croatian National Tourist Board, emphasized the significance of these accolades, stating, "The MICHELIN stars confirm the excellence of Croatian gastronomy and the skills of our chefs. As a destination, we want to continue to excel, and this MICHELIN selection proves that we have another thing to be proud of." He highlighted that Croatia now boasts 93 MICHELIN-rated restaurants, which will enhance the country's promotion as a prestigious gastronomic destination.

Additionally, the restaurant Fakin from Legrad has been included in the Bib Gourmand list, recognizing quality menus at affordable prices. Croatia now features 11 Bib Gourmand restaurants, showcasing its diverse and high-quality culinary offerings.

These accolades result from secret inspections by MICHELIN inspectors, solidifying Croatia’s status as a noteworthy destination in the internationally acclaimed restaurant guide.
