Seabourn, the prominent name in ultra-luxury voyages and expedition travel, is set to revolutionize its onboard digital experience. The travel leader has announced an exciting partnership with SpaceX's Starlink, a global pioneer in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite technology. This collaboration aims to equip Seabourn's expedition ships, Seabourn Venture and the soon-to-launch Seabourn Pursuit, with next-generation Wi-Fi connectivity.
With this technological upgrade, Seabourn is committed to offering faster, more reliable Wi-Fi service, ensuring its guests can remain digitally connected, even while traversing some of the world's most exotic and remote locations.
Commencing its second Arctic season, the Seabourn Venture was the first of the fleet to be equipped with Starlink's state-of-the-art Wi-Fi technology, starting with its May 12, 2023 voyage. Following its launch in the summer of 2023, the Seabourn Pursuit will also be outfitted with this enhanced Wi-Fi connectivity.
"We're devoted to offering the finest ultra-luxury expedition experiences at sea, and our partnership with Starlink will significantly elevate the connectivity experience during our expedition journeys," said Natalya Leahy, President of Seabourn. She emphasized that this leap in technology will allow guests to share their unique moments and experiences in real-time, from polar regions to the South Pacific, aboard both the Seabourn Venture and the Seabourn Pursuit.
Echoing Leahy's enthusiasm, Kathleen Erickson, Seabourn's Vice President of Technology, added, "Starlink's advanced Internet capabilities meet the growing global service demands, and we're thrilled that our guests and crew members aboard both expedition ships will benefit from this innovative technology."
Starting May 12, 2023, Seabourn Venture guests will be the first to enjoy the enhanced Wi-Fi service onboard. The ship's itinerary will span from the Arctic to Antarctica, with two voyages to the British Isles and Ireland in May before beginning its Arctic season. Between June and August 2023, the ship will embark on a series of 14- and 15-day voyages to Greenland and Iceland, as well as a 23-day adventure through the Northwest Passage. The ship will then chart a course down the West Coast of the Americas to reach Antarctica, where it will sail between November 2023 and February 2024.
