Passengers aboard Royal Caribbean’s Odyssey of the Seas faced turbulent conditions during the ship's transatlantic voyage from Rome to New York, as severe storms forced an abrupt course adjustment. The captain’s announcement warned passengers about potential rough weather and advised them to remain seated for safety during the maneuver.

Fifty-two lucky fans will have the chance to join this exclusive 3-night celebration, starting July 15, just days before the ship's official debut on July 19 in Port Canaveral (Orlando), Florida.

Cruisers with loyalty status on Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises, or Silversea Cruises can now apply that status level across all three lines, thanks to a new initiative by Royal Caribbean Group. The company, which owns the three brands, is introducing a Loyal Status Match program to encourage travelers to stay within its family of brands.

"We want to make sure that if you're going to go on a vacation experience, that it stays within our family of brands, and that you don't need to go outside of our family," stated Jason Liberty, CEO of Royal Caribbean Group.

An extensive search operation is currently underway for Edmond Bradley Solomon, a 66-year-old cruise passenger who went missing during a stop in Cozumel, Mexico. Solomon, who was traveling on Royal Caribbean International's Icon of the Seas, disembarked in Cozumel on April 3, 2024, and failed to return before the ship's departure. Given Solomon's diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia, which affects communication and complex cognitive functions, the urgency to locate him is particularly high.

In an exciting development for West Coast cruise enthusiasts, Royal Caribbean International has announced that Quantum of the Seas, one of its most amenity-rich vessels, will begin sailing from Los Angeles in October 2025. This move positions Quantum of the Seas as the largest ship in the Royal Caribbean fleet ever to be based in the city, signifying a significant expansion of the cruise line's presence on the West Coast.
