Southwest Airlines to Introduce Extra-Legroom Seats and Assigned Seating by 2026
Customers flying with Southwest Airlines will soon notice changes in the seating arrangements, as the airline plans to introduce extra-legroom seats in the first quarter of next year. However, these seats will not be sold as a separate product until the first half of 2026.
During the interim, early-boarding passengers will have the opportunity to select the extra-legroom seats if available. Southwest CEO Bob Jordan explained, "It takes time to implement any significant initiative. We've been wired for 53 years to do open seating."
Cathay Pacific to Launch Dallas-Hong Kong Route in April 2024
Cathay Pacific is set to expand its U.S. network with the addition of Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport to its routes. Beginning April 24, 2024, the airline will offer four weekly flights connecting Dallas with its home base in Hong Kong. The Oneworld Alliance member will use Airbus A350-1000 aircraft on the route, offering business, premium economy, and economy cabins. Cathay Pacific will be the only airline offering direct flights on this route.

The application process opens on November 27, 2024, for non-Europeans and March 5, 2025, for Europeans.
